Since 2006, I have been recognizing Repeal Day. I was inspired by my bar brother in the PNW, Jeffrey Morganthaler. When I first started, people thought I made it up. But it caught on over time. Today, people will be celebrating from DC to Chicago to LA
We will be celebrating tonight at The Humidor Cigar Bar & Lounge in Palm Coast, beginning at 7:00pm with a ceremonial reading of the 21st Amendment.
The Humidor, located in European Village, is a classic space boasting leather, dark woods, and a fantastic vibe. Guests are encouraged to dress in the attire of the era (1
0% Discount On EVERYTHING for those dressed for the occasion). In addition, Anchor Steam Beer will be $2 all day. Anchor Steam is a pre-prohibition brew from San Francisco.
Wherever you are, I encourage you to celebrate your constitutional right to have a drink. Cheers!
Enjoying a hot whiskey – January 6, 2012
When I received my Timehop email this morning I realized the symptoms I’ve had the past few days were the same ones I had a year ago today. The other similarities of 365 days ago are amusing. Many big things have changed since this time last year, but I like to believe in the small things that make us who we are.

||“The flower that wilted last year is gone. Petals once fallen are fallen forever. Flowers do not return in the spring, rather they are replaced. It is in this difference between returned and replaced that the price of renewal is paid.
And as it is for spring flowers, so it is for us.”

Had a trio visit last week at the Tiki Bar and I caught one taking photos of me. After we chatted for a bit, I learned she had a blog called Hurricanes & Hangovers and we traded information. Here are a couple of the shots, with me in my full bearded & rasta cap glory. Thanks Karla!
Caught me pouring
Stopped to pose
When leaving, they asked me for a dive bar recommendation. I pointed them to the Iron Boot Pub in Beverly Beach.
Thanks to Karla Bailer for these shots. Check out her blog at www.hurricanesandhangovers.com
