Funny story, I love making tropical drinks. I find them very appealing to the senses and I enjoy the creativity involved. It might sound odd, but I don’t really enjoy drinking them all that much. I really prefer sour over sweet, so most boat drinks are out. The exception is my Planter’s Punch recipe, because it is just that good.
So, drum roll please for the first drink I let someone buy me on birthday week!

Thanks to Kathy of Beachside Liquors for buying the first drink of TikiFest 2011!
Once last time, I would ask any of you for whom I have mixed a drink, given a recipe, created a smile, or just given you tips about cocktails in general to cast a vote for me as Backstage Pass Magazine’s Favorite Bartender for 2010.
You might know that I won the title in 2006, 2007, 2008. They snuck the award out from under my nose in 2009 (I didn’t think they were even running the contest), but this year I had my spies out!
Click over to www.backpassmag.com and look for “Florida’s Favorite 2010”. Cast your vote for Mark Woods – Golden Lion Cafe and for any of your other favorites.
